Rajah Clash of the Chicken Curries Ts & Cs

1. The promoter is Unilever South Africa (Pty) Ltd (“the Promoter”).

2. The promotional competitions are open to all South African residents who are over the age of 18 years and in possession of a valid identity document.

3. The promotional competitions are not open to any director, member, partner, employee, agent or consultant of the Promoter, the marketing service providers or any person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by these entities, including their spouses, life partners, business partners or immediate family members.

4. By participating, participants agree to receive future marketing material from the brand/s on promotion. However, the participant has the right to unsubscribe to receiving marketing material or request the Promoter to delete their information by contacting the Promoter at 15 Nollsworth Crescent, Nollsworth Park, La Lucia, 4051 Att: Legal Department or opting out from any electronic marketing message.

5. All personal information ("Personal Data") supplied by participants shall be processed in accordance with South African data protection legislation and the Promoter’s Privacy Policy.

6. These promotional competitions are open for participation from 09:00 on 1 July 2024 and end at 00:00 (midnight) on 6 October 2024. Any entries received after the closing date won’t be considered.

7. There are two promotional competitions that will run simultaneously from 09:00 on 1 July 2024 and end at 00:00 (midnight) on 6 October 2024. Finalists for the Clash of the Chicken Curries competition will be contacted directly for further details, and winners of Rajah’s spot prizes will be announced via the Promoter’s social platforms.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

8.1 Clash of The Chicken Curries

To enter, participants should buy any 2 Rajah Curry Powder products, cook their favourite chicken curry meal and WhatsApp a picture of their dish with the Rajah Curry Powder products visible to 064 812 9641. Participants need to follow the below steps to enter successfully.

  • Start engagement with WhatsApp by saying Hi
  • Select Rajah Curry Clash from the WhatsApp menu
  • Enter Name, Surname, Mobile number, and Province
  • Upload a picture of the chicken curry dish (with 2 Rajah Curry Powder products visible)
  • Type out the recipe or upload a picture of the recipe
  • Upload till slip as proof of purchase
  • Upon entering successfully, a thank you message will be received

8.1.1 Three finalists will be selected to partake in a Clash of the Chicken Curries cook off, where one winner will be decided and announced. The grand prize winner will receive R50 000, a Le Creuset Casserole and cooking equipment. The Promoter will judge the entries.

8.1.2 Entrants are permitted unlimited entries.

8.3 Judging Criteria

8.3.1 Creativity: How to creatively create a Rajah Chicken Curry with your Rajah Curry Powder with a dash of your personality.

8.3.2 Appearance: The Entrant must include an image of their chicken curry dish that they prepared, to apply these judging criteria.

8.3.3 In addition the Entrants must:

  • Use Rajah Curry Powder in their Chicken Curry dish.
  • Be prepared to share recipes and photographs as part of the entry process.
  • Adhere to any and all hygiene standards.
  • Agree to all travel and appearance commitments of the promotion.
  • Be prepared to cook in activation roadshows.
  • Be confident to cook and present dishes live in front of an audience.
  • Be confident with minor “to-camera” communication and interviews.
  • Agree to all contractual and brand requirements (including agreed-upon appearances throughout the promotion period – in person and across all media including Social Media).
  • Agree to background checks.
  • Agree to sign usage agreements.
  • Agree to sign a UL brand ambassador contract.

9. Spot prizes

To enter, participants should engage with Rajah’s social posts on Facebook and Instagram by replying on the request made in the specific post. Replies should be made in the comments sections. Winners will be drawn randomly and announced on Facebook and Instagram.

10. The participants who meet the requirements of these clauses shall qualify as an entrant in the Promotions (“Entrant”).

11. Entrants are permitted unlimited entries.

12. The spot prizes include Rajah-branded memorabilia, including aprons, and assorted Rajah products.

13. Any prize not taken up for any reason will be forfeited.

14. Prizes are not exchangeable or transferable.

15. SELECTING WINNERS

15.1 Winners should enter our promotional competitions between 09:00 on 1 July 2024 and 00:00 (midnight) on 6 October 2024.

15.2 For the Clash of the Chicken Curries competition, a total of three finalists will be selected to partake in a Clash of the Chicken Curries cook off, where one final winner will be decided and announced.

15.3 For the spot prizes competition, a total of four winners will be selected.

15.4 Winners of our spot prizes will be drawn randomly. They will be announced on Facebook and Instagram throughout the duration of the competition.

15.5 The winners will be required to provide their name, ID number, copy of their identity document, and contact details and to sign an acknowledgement of receipt of the prize.

15.6 The Promoter (or their agent) will endeavour to contact the prize winners once every day for five consecutive working days after their name is announced. If the winner cannot be contacted during this period, the prize will be forfeited, and another winner will be selected in accordance with the rules after five consecutive working days.

15.7 The Promoter reserves the right to select the winners.

16. DELIVERY OF PRIZE

16.1 For the delivery of the prizes, the Promoter will be in contact with the selected winners via their social profiles to obtain a valid address. The prize(s) will then be sent to them directly and winners can expect delivery within three months.

16.2 Failure to claim the prize within five consecutive working days or a refusal or inability to comply with any of the competition requirements will disqualify the winners and a new winner will be selected in terms of these rules.

17. GENERAL

17.1 The winners will be required to sign an Indemnity and Media Release form.

17.2 A copy of these rules can be found on the following website https://www.whatsfordinner.co.za/rajah-clash-of-the-chicken-curries-campaign-ts-and-cs/ throughout the period of the competition or can be obtained from the Consumer Call Centre on telephone number 0860 151 141.

17.3. The Promoter shall not be responsible for the failure of any technical element relating to this promotion that may result in an entry not being successfully submitted.

17.4. Responsibility is not accepted for entries lost, damaged or delayed as a result of any network, computer or cell phone hardware or software failure of any kind. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of receipt.

17.5 The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any claim if fraud or cheating is suspected, including without limitation, through the manipulation of code or otherwise frequently falsifying data.

17.6 No applications from agents, third parties, organised groups or applications automatically generated by computer will be accepted. No incomplete or corrupted entries will be accepted. Entries will only be accepted if they comply with all entry instructions.

17.7 The Promoter reserves the right to use the images taken of the winners for publicity purposes in any manner they deem fit, without remuneration being made payable to the winners. However, the winners have the right to object to these images being used by written notification to the Promoter at 15 Nollsworth Crescent, Nollsworth Park, La Lucia, 4051 Att: Legal Department.

17.8 The Promoter shall have the right to change or terminate the promotional competition immediately and without notice, if deemed necessary in its opinion and if circumstances arise outside of its control. In the event of such change or termination, all participants agree to waive any rights that they have in respect of this promotional competition and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against the Promoter or its agents.

17.9 In the event that the prize is not available despite the Promoter’s reasonable endeavours to procure the prize, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize of equal value.

18. Neither the Promoter, its agents, its associated companies, nor any directors, officers or employees of such, shall be liable for any loss or damage, whether direct, indirect, consequential or otherwise arising from any cause whatsoever, which may be suffered by the participant or the winners.

19. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

20. Participation in the promotional competition constitutes acceptance of the promotional competition rules and participants agree to abide by the rules.

21. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook or Instagram and the participants acknowledge that they are providing information to the Promoter and its agents only and not to Facebook or Instagram.

22. All participants in this Competition release Facebook and Instagram from all liabilities and claims arising out of or in connection with this competition and these terms and conditions.

23. The Promoter reserves the right to delete any information uploaded by a participant which the Promoter, in its absolute discretion, believes is illegal, obscene, offensive or defamatory, or infringes the intellectual property rights of a third party, or is otherwise inappropriate for a campaign designed for mass audience entertainment.

24. Participants warrant that they have full rights to the images and descriptions that they upload and that the use of the said material shall not constitute a breach of any third party’s copyright or other intellectual property rights.

25. Participants agree that by uploading their images and/or descriptions, they grant permission to the Promoter to use the images or descriptions or any part thereof, in any and all media for promotional/marketing purposes with no consideration payable to the participants.
